William "Bill" L. Robertson

William “Bill” L. Robertson, 87, of West Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 with his family by his side.  He was the first born to Walker and Vergene Robertson of Prairieton Township. 

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Concannon High School and attended Purdue University.  He was a dedicated farmer, still active in farming until his passing.  In the 1960’s he was a truck driver for Lovelace Trucking Company.  Bill was on the Vigo County Fair Board, Farm Bureau member, and was on the USDA Board for many years. He participated in 4-H showing beef and hogs and was awarded the Young Farmer Award for Vigo County.  Bill was a member of the National Tractor Pulling Association, 4-H auction supporter, but mostly known as a river bottom farmer and truck driver of 18 wheelers.

Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sarah, and their four children Ann Roberts (Robin), Sally Robertson, William Robertson (Julie), Todd Robertson (Jenny), and grandchildren Scott Roberts (Janine), Mary Smith (Ridgley), Ross Robertson (Kelli), Cole Robertson (Kaylen), Morgan Haley (Andrew), Nicholas Robertson, and Nathan Robertson, and six great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl Robertson (Ruth) and Earl Robertson (Francis), and granddaughter Sarah Roberts Norton.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 25, 2022, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Irwin officiating.  Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
