Willard “Dale” Whitlock, 89, passed away on March 4, 2026. He was born on January 1, 1937 in Vigo County to Guy Whitlock and Mary (Schomer) Whitlock. Dale was a proud Navy veteran and enjoyed attending his Navy reunions. He was an avid fan of high school basketball and Wabash Valley Classic, and he went on many trips with the Wabash Western Riders.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years Karen (Fuqua) Whitlock, son Bucky Whitlock, daughter Andrea Anguiano (Danny), stepson Jeff Hansen (Kath), stepdaughter Nicole Wallace, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death both his parents and siblings, William “Bud” Whitlock, Allen Whitlock, Kenny Whitlock, Ed Whitlock, Harold Whitlock, Betty Gregory, Maxine Fields, and Dorothy Peoples.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley, especially nurse Reagan, for all of the kindness and excellent care that was received.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2pm at the funeral home.
