Wesley Gordon Gates

Wesley Gordon  “Wes” Gates went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home with his loving wife by his side.  He was born September 27, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Eather W. Gates and Martha I. Gwin. 

Wes served his country in the Air Force and during that time he was also an ordained minister who preached in many of the churches around the country and the Wabash Valley.  He loved to preach about his Lord, he also loved to sing and play the piano.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by sons Kevin Gates (Juli) and Rocky Gates, daughter Cynthia Gates, stepdaughter Jodi Sherlin (Randall) and stepson Jason Fulmer (Megan), his wife Pat who he married in 2014, sister Kathryn Flowers (Carl), and a brother Dennis Gates and his wife.  He is also survived by grandchildren Kristina, Michael, Maddison, Parker, Patricia, and Randall, Jr.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
