Wanda Lou Modesitt Hylton, 82, of Riley, Indiana passed away at her home surrounded by family on May 18, 2021. She was born on August 7, 1938 in Cory, IN to Ernest L. Modesitt and Frances Hull Modesitt. She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband Edward Wyatt Hylton, who passed away in 2003. The couple would have been married for 64 years this June. She is also preceded by her siblings, Wayne Modesitt, Elaine Collins, Alvin Modesitt, and Barb Edwards. Wanda is survived by her children, Ivin Hylton (Nina), Deanna Lawson (Mike), Dawn Juraskovich (Marty), and Merri Daniel; grandchildren, Ciara Lawson (Brendan), Denise Laverty (Mike), and Brock Daniel; great grandchild Sami Laverty; brother-in-law Ray Collins; sisters-in-law Barb Modesitt and Sandy Auler, as well as several nieces and nephews. Wanda graduated high school then went to beauty school, after that she worked as a beautician. Wanda also worked at Indiana State Bank, Merchants Bank, Old National Bank, as well as Clerk for the Town of Riley. Wanda was an active member of the Blackhawk Community Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Visitation for Wanda will be held on Monday, May 24 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with services starting at 1:00 PM. Burial at Oakhill Cemetery will follow. Rev. Jeff Lee will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Blackhawk Community Church, 12604 State Road 159, Pimento, IN 47866.
