Suzanne Cristee, age 86, passed away at Union Hospital on January 21, 2024. Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to parents, Vernon and M. Dorotha (Burton) Cristee, she spent most of her life in Terre Haute, Indiana. After attending Wiley High School, she was e by the Vigo County Library for 45 years, serving in various capacities until her retirement in 2002.
Suzanne was a longtime member of Terre Haute First Baptist Church. As a Sunday School Assistant and Toddler Room Teacher she was a loving care giver to two generations of Sunday School children. Many of these children, now with their own families, continued their correspondence with “Suzy” for many years.
She loved to knit and crochet, often making gifts for family and friends. Over the years, each newborn grandchild and great grandchild had been the recipient of his or her own handmade blanket.
Suzy has lived at Westminster Village for over 20 years, participating in many activities and serving on several committees. She leaves many good friends there.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bev Cristee; niece, Janet Clark (Phil); John Cristee (Carolyn); nephew, Jeff Cristee (Dana); nine grandnieces and grandnephews, and seven great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to either, Terre Haute First Baptist Church or Hospice of the Wabash Valley in Suzanne’s name. Visitation will be Tuesday January 30, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Terre Haute First Baptist Church with a Memorial Service starting at 12:00 noon in the church with Reverends Steve Newman and John Campbell officiating. Private burial will be at a later time in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
