Susan Bendzsa Obituary

Susan K. Bendzsa, 78, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Union Hospital.  She was born February 29, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana to Maulcom and Jeanne Gentry.  Susan was a well know hairdresser in Terre Haute.  She was in the 1st graduating class at Harold’s Beauty Academy and worked at Root’s Salon.  Later she was one of the owners of Downtown Hairdesigners.  Susan was a member of United Methodist Temple and belonged to the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her sons Randal Camp (Theresa) and Kelly Camp, her companion of 20 years, Terry Fields, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings Nancy Moreland (Jim), William Gentry (Sharon), Betty Jane Hoopingarner (Charlie), and Robert Gentry (Darlena), and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Bendzsa who passed away in 2000, and her first husband Robin Camp.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Service will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Chris Gadlage will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
