Stacey Bedwell

Stacey Bedwell, 50, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice.  She was born September 30, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois to John E. Bedwell and Emalie Thomson Sherfick.
She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Bedwell. Stacy is survived by her mother Emalie J Sherfick; her step father George R. Sherfick; her sister Michelle Jackson (Wm. Todd); her half sister Kelly Sessler (and her children); her nephew John Kyan Ermisch (Ciera); her niece Samantha J. Ermisch (Andrew); her niece Tori L. Jackson; her nephew Wm. Todd Jackson II; five great nephews: Samuel Dean and Aemon Mace Ermisch, Matthias F. Waltz, Aiden Parker, and Jeremiah Garner; and many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Stacey graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 1989. She was a lifetime lover of all animals, and was rarely seen without a Pug nearby. Stacey loved Captain America, and through her 11 year journey fighting cancer, she adopted Steve Roger's remarkable bravery and perseverance. Stacey was fiercely authentic, hardworking, and optimistic. She was bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, and was a proud member of the gay community. Her hobbies included rescuing animals, traveling, cooking, crafting, collecting rocks, and Marvel Avengers memorabilia. Stacey impacted many lives with her generosity, and will be dearly missed.
Memorial visitation will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel from 5 to 7pm.
The family suggests that as an alternative to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
