Shirley Ann Hoke, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 5:16 am in her residence. She was born February 4, 1937 in Marshall, Illinois to John Gunder and Ada (Thompson) Gunder. Shirley is survived by daughters, Christy Higgins (Fred) of Terre Haute and Theresa Kirby (Jim) of Spencer; a son, Isaac McMullen; step-daughters, Kim Lawrence (Jim of Terre Haute and Kelly Hoke of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Nikole Higgins, Emilly Higgins, Skyler Lawrence, and Ashlee Lane; a sister, Barbara Jean (Bob); cousin and dear friend, Mary Lou Strohm (Lester) and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was a member of St. Joseph University Parish and she loved reading, crocheting, antique hunting and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Visitation will be Friday April 6, 2018 from 9:00 until 10:00 am in St. Joseph University Parish with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in the church with Friar mark Weaver officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Marshall. DeBaun Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
