Sheryl Baker Obituary

Sheryl A. Baker, 75, of Farmersburg went to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her beloved children, parents, and brother on Monday July 29, 2024. She was born March 27, 1949 in Sullivan, Indiana to Donald Keith and Betty (Wilson) Allen. Sheryl is survived by her grandchildren, Olivia Kimanzi and Josè “Alex” Colohua; great-grandchildren, Jahari Mayes, Walker Johnson, and Jeremiah Kimanzi; sister, Debbie McCammon; son-in-law, Josè Colohua; her sisters from other misters, Linda Steele along with the Schofield girls and Luanne Brown; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved fur baby, Shawandee. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Keith Allen; mother, Betty Allen Pullum; daughter, Samantha “Mandy” Colohua; son, Christopher Trench, and brother, Donald "Keith" Allen, Jr. Sheryl was a member of Farmersburg Methodist Church and though she was unable to attend church, her visits from her pastors and hospice chaplain helped strengthen her faith. Her life was full of struggles and heartache but she found solace in the Lord, joy with her nieces and nephews, and absolutely lit up when her grandchildren would come to visit with her. The family wishes to thank "her girls" from Southern Care Hospice, Harley, Mackenzie, Summer, Rachael, and Chaplain Barbara all of whom she loved dearly as well as previous caregivers Michelle and Amy. Cremation has been chosen with a visitation Saturday August 17, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Farmersburg Methodist Church with a memorial service to start at 1:00 pm in the church with Pastors Jeff Blansett and Don Ransford officiating, Burial will follow in Farmersburg West Lawn Cemetery.
