Sharon Dee Forbes, 77, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born March 22, 1944 in Marion, Ohio to Carl C. Meddles and Dorothy M. (Kramer) Meddles. She was a member and past president of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 972 and Women’s Auxiliary to the MOC (Military Order of the Cooties). She was a supporter of youth; serving 12 years in scouting including Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Cubmaster Boy Scout Trainer, and Commissioner. She worked as a Program Assistant for Youth and served as PTA President. Sharon also worked at J.C. Penney, Sullivan County Extension Office, and Columbia House over the years. She loved to do crafts and embroidery.
Sharon is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy M. Meddles, her father Carl C. Meddles, Stepmother Virginia M. Meddles, brother Rodger Lee Meddles, brother Larry Meddles, husbands Gary L. Kistler and Thomas J. Forbes. Survivors include one daughter Toni Pilman (Jerry), two sons and their wives, Terry Kistler (Amy), Trent Forbes (Jennifer), grandchildren Maeghan Wiram (Lonnie), Brennen Pilman, Megan Mangin (Jacob), Cody Kistler, and Aiden Forbes, sister Brenda Scott and her family. Visitation will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will follow visitation. Pastor Rick Swan will be officiating.
