Russell "Steve" Vaughn

Russell “Steve” Vaughn, 66 of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away October 18, 2018 with family around him. Mr. Vaughn was born September 30, 1952 in Vincennes, Indiana to his late parents; Gene Vaughn and Betty Perry.

“Steve” as everyone knew him, loved people, enjoyed life and his food, loved cooking for anyone inside and outside, loved hunting and fishing, drove a semi since he was 16 with wood on the peddles so he could reach them and his momma with him every trip. Steve loved the Lord, working the food pantry and enjoyed hearing the gospel through words and song, especially when his best friend Bobby was singing. Steve loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Springhill Village for not only caring for Steve but loving and spoiling him. He called Springhill his other home.  And a special thank you to Bob and Laura for visiting every week and taking him a milkshake, and to Chris and Richard for being there for him in surgery’s and in unconditional friendship.

Mr. Vaughn was survived by his best friend and wife of 44 years, Chris “Koenig” Vaughn of Florida; His children: Christy (Meg) Vaughn of Florida, Steve (Becca) Vaughn of Oklahoma, Jasmine Vaughn of Florida; Grandchildren: Emily Newsome, Sarah Newsome, and Dylan Vaughn., His sister: Vicki (Gary) Daughtery of Alabama. Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and other family members and dear friends that will miss him greatly. He is preceded in death by his brother Travis Vaughn.

Memorial services will be 1:00p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Oaktown First Christian Church, 103 School St., Oaktown, Indiana 47561, with food and fellowship to follow. In leu of flowers the family request donations be given to “God’s Pantry” at the Oaktown First Christian Church.
