Rosemary Thomas

Rosemary Thomas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 29, 2020, at 93 years of age. She was born to William and Ruby Pierson on October 22, 1927 in Sullivan, Indiana. Rosemary graduated from high school in Sullivan with the class of 1944. She married Gerald Loren Thomas on July 22, 1946. Along with her parents and 7 brothers and sisters, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Gerald L. Thomas, who died on October 5, 2018. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Munoz of Columbia, SA, one son, Steven Thomas (Becky) of Longboat Keyes, FL, and one daughter, Jan Alexander-Zellers (David) of Terre Haute, IN, 6 grandchildren: Stacy Thomas of San Antonio, TX, Scott Lidster of Terre Haute, IN, Dustin Lidster of Terre Haute, IN, Eric Thomas (Kelly) of Austin, TX, Megan Wilson (JR) of Brazil, IN, and Ashley Mojica (Josh) of Elkhart, IN. Rosemary is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Rosemary was a member of First Christian Church in Sullivan, IN. Her interests throughout her life included home interiors, oil painting, tending to her flowers, playing golf most often in league play at the Terre Haute Country Club of which she and her husband were members. She and her husband enjoyed spending winters in Florida, and they were able to do this for over 40 years. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, cross word puzzles, and small gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Her memory will live on in those of us that loved and knew her.  Private viewing will be Friday, November 20, 2020 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. for family and close friends only.  Pastor Todd Payton of Union Christian Church will be officiating.  Private entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending your memorial gifts to Union Christian Church, 5350 E Hulman Dr, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
