Robert Drake Obituary

Robert Earl “Bob” Drake, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday July 9, 2020 in Cobblestone Health Campus. He was a retired plant controller manager for American Can Company. He was born December 13, 1927 in Prairieton, Indiana to Thomas E. and Mary Bernice (Harvey) Drake. Bob is survived by his daughters, Vicki Scheid (Dan) and Deborah Kerr (Daniel); son, Doug Drake; brother, John Drake; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Erma (Hodges) Drake, who died October 9, 2015, and sisters, Harriet Mitchell, Ginny Rockwood, Nancy Moore, and Patty Drake. Bob was a US Navy veteran of WW II and served in the Naval Reserves following the war. He was a member of the Prairieton Masonic Lodge and former member of the Eastern Star and he was also a member of the VFW. He retired from American Can Company at the age of 55, but never stopped working. If not working around his own house, he would be helping family and friends do work at their house. Staying busy is what kept him going and it was never really work to him.
