Rita M. Gormong

Rita M. Gormong, 77, of Terre Haute passed away September 30, 2020 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  She was born on August 24, 1943 to John C. and Helen (Scarbrough) Wright and they have preceded her in death.  She married Larry Gormong on May 3, 1964 and he survives.  She is also survived by her three sons and their wives Jeff and Beth Gormong, Joe and Randi Gormong, and Jason and Katie Gormong.  She is survived by three sisters Anna Spitler, Frieda Tarrh, and Carol Sue Lee; three brothers Clyde Wright, Ray Wright, and Don Wright.  She has nine grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by sisters and a brother Lois Young, Polly Rector, and John ‘Mac’ Wright.  Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. with her nephew Rev. Matthew Wright officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until services.  Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at New Harmony Cemetery.  For those that choose donations in her honor can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.  Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be offered at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
