Ransom L. Fisher, 70, of Terre Haute went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born December 3, 1950 in Marshall, Illinois to Harold Fisher and Doris Mason Fisher. Ransom served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a medic, drill sergeant, and finally ended his career as a recruiter. He spent much of his time volunteering with Veterans organizations and belonged to the American Legion. Ransom was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking and reading. He very much admired the Amish lifestyle and lived his life finding pleasure in the simple things. Ransom also found comfort reading the Bible. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Ransom is survived by his son Chris Fisher (Angie), daughter Cathie Huber (Kent), grandchildren Gavin Fisher, Jack Huber, and Morgan Huber; brothers Harold Fisher (Nancy) and Jim Fisher (Karen), sisters Paula Hice, Nina Gonzalez, and Glenna Mincer (Bill). He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law William Hice.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service and military honors will follow visitation. Cremation was chosen. Masks are required for unvaccinated guests and social distancing should be practiced.
