Ralph W. Davis

Reverend Ralph W. Davis, 77, of Terre Haute passed from this life into his heavenly home on December 31, 2020.  He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Claudia Jo Davis and one daughter, Paula Davis Botta and one son-in-law, Deryl Botta (Carmel), and six grandchildren, Michael Botta (Indianapolis), Kayla Botta (Indianapolis), Jenna Botta (Indianapolis), Tera Botta (Carmel), Davis Botta (Carmel), and Thomas Botta (Carmel).  He was also survived by two sisters-in-law, Judith Liffick and Marilyn Davis (both of Terre Haute).  He was preceded in death by his son Michael “Mike” Davis on October 16, 1985.

Ralph was born in Anderson, Indiana on March 12, 1943 to Robert and Gladys Davis.  He had four siblings, Robert Davis, Roy “Bud” Davis, Ida Gallagher, and Barbara Jones.  He and his wife, Jo Davis, were best friends and inseparable; theirs was a wonderful example of a loving marriage.  He was a loving and supportive father to Mike and Paula.  He loved being a grandfather to his six grandchildren and prayed for them regularly.  Becoming a grandfather eased some of the pain of losing his only son, Mike.

Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and loved his country.  He was a hard worker and a man of integrity.  He was a longtime employee of J.I. Case of Terre Haute until it closed.  He went on to work at Crane Naval Base, at Pfizer and then retired from Novelis in Terre Haute.

Ralph loved the Lord all of his life and liked nothing better than worshipping God though music.  He was an ordained Pentecostal minister and was the pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church 1982-2002.  He was known for his silly parodies, jokes, and teasing.  He loved to make people laugh.  He and Jo were members of Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Terre Haute for the past several years.  His family and those who were fortunate to know him will miss him greatly and look forward to seeing him again someday.  We grieve for our loss but rejoice that he is home with his Savior Jesus Christ.  He is forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Service will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Merrill Weir, Jr. will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt.
