Patricia O'Brien Obituary

Patricia Ann (McGorey) O’Brien, 86, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024.  She was born March 17, 1937, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Helen (Sanders) McGorey and William A. McGorey.  Pat was raised in Plymouth and Royal Oak, Michigan.  She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Royal Oak in 1955.  Pat married her high school sweetheart, Richard O’Brien on February 15, 1958.  She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and served as officer in the Alter Society for several years.  Pat enjoyed visiting Italy and Ireland after the passing of her husband with her church group.  She was very involved at church and the people there were like a second family to her. Pat also enjoyed playing bingo with friends from her apartment complex.  Being active and involved brought her so much joy.

Pat is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Holt (Jim), Colleen Brannon (Lee), Debbie VanGilder (JR), and Maggie Baldwin (Jim), grandchildren Amber Niebrugge (Robert), Clacey Holt, Michael Brannon, Trey VanGilder, Shelby Ottinger (Brady), William Brannon, Chris Brannon, Hunter Edington (Will), and Paige Baldwin; and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, Richard, grandson Trey VanGilder, and son-in-law Lee Brannon.
