Nancy Kay Sons, 65, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 17, 1956 in Terre Haute to Charles Barnes and Patricia Akers Barnes Stewart. Nancy was an LPN for 27 years caring for the elderly. After retiring she worked with the youth of Terre Haute as a bowling coach for both Terre Haute South High School and Honey Creek Middle School. She was on the Board of Directors for the Greater Terre Haute Bowling Association. Nancy was a 2017 member of the GTHUSBC Hall of Fame and Youth Chairman for the association. She was a member of the Terre Haute Moose Lodge. She loved to spend time with her family. Nancy was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Alfred “Roy” Sons, father William Stewart, mother Patricia Stewart, two sons, Rodney Sons (Angela) and Troy Sons (Becky), grandchildren Wade Sons, Isaiah Sons, Justin Beaulieu, Kylea Beaulieu, and Mackenzie Beaulieu; great-grandchildren Evelynn Sons and Cayson Hardesty; brothers Dale Barnes (Mary), Michael Barnes (Margaret), William A. Stewart (Theresa), and Dennis Stewart (Sharon), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her biological father Charles Barnes and her daughter Shelley Sons Beaulieu.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Reverend D. Scott Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nancy Sons Youth Bowling Scholarship Fund.
