Muriel Joyce Allen, 99, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Gibson Family Hospice. She was born on November 6, 1925, in Redditch, England to Edward Payne and Eva Mutton Payne. Muriel was a member of the Faith Wesleyan Church. She was a 50-year member of the Maryland Home Economics Club and a member of the Overseas Wives Club. Her love of being British shown through her fondness of flowers, tea and the Queen. Muriel was an avid baker and made the best goodies. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed knitting. Muriel loved everyone, and everyone loved her.
She is survived by her son Brian Allen (Carrie), daughters Janet Parvis (Dave) and Carolyn Harper, six grandchildren Geoff (Julie) McWilliams, Robin (Ken) Munson, Rhiannon (Eric) Stanfield, Jamie (Charlie) Tavenier, and Lauren (Parker) Kirby, eleven great-grandchildren Ryanne Stanfield, Tyler Stanfield, Sydney Stanfield, Rylee Stanfield, Quinn Munson, Gavin Munson, Mae Munson, Addison McWilliams, Zeke McWilliams, Kelsey Mills, and Kaylee Mills, and niece Geraldine Haynes (Neil). Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Edward Allen, granddaughter, Lindsay, sister Audrey Norton, and son-in-law Richard Harper.
Visitation will be Sunday March 9, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Julie Puttmann will officiate.
