Mildred Jane Cooprider was born on October 24, 1922 in Waukegan, IL to Walter Stinson & Myrtle “Timpe” Robinson Stinson. Jane passed away peacefully in her 96th year surrounded by family at home on January 24th.
Jane found pleasure in gardening, loving on her cat, Foster, working puzzles, sewing, and playing cards. If she wasn’t doing those things, Jane could be found working alongside her chef son-in-law slinging pots in the dish sink and icing cookies, well into her 90’s. Her quick wit and delightful prayers of grace will always be remembered. Everyone who met Jane was enamored by her sweetness and she loved being called “mother” by many. Jane’s sparking blue eyes reflected one of her favorite sayings, “There’s not a cloud in the sky.”
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Max. She is survived by her daughter Betsy Cooprider (Alan Bernstein), son Brad Cooprider (Robin), granddaughters Hannah Cooprider (Dennis) and Emily Gornall (Josh), and great granddaughter, Madelyn Grace.
She was a member of Oregon Baptist Church, a 50 year member and Past Worthy Matron of Pimento O.E.S.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at 3pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute. Visitation will be from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 14th and Chestnut Community Center in Terre Haute, The Misty Eyes Animal Shelter in Brownsburg, or to a charity of your choice.
