Melinda Rose Stadler, 34, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, went to be with the Lord and her Heavenly family on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She passed from complications of Huntington’s Disease. Helping her to cross over were her special family and Guardians, Debbie Jovanovich and Stacy Holliday, to whom this family will forever be grateful.
Mindy was born August 5, 1990, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Andrew P. Stadler and Amy E. (Peach) Stadler. They precede her in death as does her oldest sister, Michelle N. (Stadler) Eberlein, her grandparents, William and Wilma Peach, Arthur and Sheila Stadler, Thomas Smith, Sr., and Barbara Smith.
Mindy is survived by her Guardians, her brothers, Michael A. Stadler, Benjamin J. Stadler, her sister, Laurisa L. Stadler, her step-mother, Laura L. (Smith) Stadler, and her Grandmother, Dorothy J. Smith, and special caretaker, Brittany Michaels, as well as several Uncles, Aunts and cousins.
Growing up, Mindy enjoyed hunting and camping with her dad and siblings. She was very active playing ball in the Riley Baseball League, and basketball at Riley Elementary School. Mindy was active in Girl Scout all through and including high school. She was a member of Mount Pleasant UMC, where she enjoyed attending youth group gatherings and activities. Her favorite hobbies were reading, watching movies, music, and laughing.
Mindy embraced her fate and empowered herself through gaining knowledge about her condition and then educating others. She was such an inspiration to those around her.
Visitation will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, Monday, August, 26, from 4-7 p.m. with services at 7. Pastor Rick Swan officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
