Marcus Michael Lee, 17, of Terre Haute passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born in Terre Haute on April 18, 2006, to Timothy Lee, Jr. and Brittney Barrett. Marcus will be lovingly remembered as a happy, fun-loving guy. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and was so excited they won the Super Bowl. Marcus loved to play video games, he loved music and had a great appreciation for cars. Driving his Camaros brought him so much joy. He grew up with his mother, grandfather Larry Barrett and grandmother Janine Nowicki. In his youth he played T-Ball and participated in the Vigo County Youth Football League. He also enjoyed fishing and swimming. Marcus was the best big brother to his little sister, Madison. He was able to graduate early from Terre Haute South and began working at Culver’s South.
He is survived by his mother and father, paternal grandparents Larry Barrett and Janine Nowicki (Dan), maternal grandmother Peggy Lee, great-grandmother Annette Johnson, sister Madison Komonce and another half-sister, uncle Lee Michael Barrett who he was very close to, aunts Jessica Lee and Clancy Quinn, cousins Lacy and D.J. and childhood friends Nicholas Cherry, Indianne Nichols, and Carter Childress, as well as many other friends. Marcus was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather Gary Johnson and paternal grandfather Timothy Lee, Sr.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society or the charity of your choice in remembrance of Marcus.
