Lula Maxine Crowley Brooks, 92, of Terre Haute passed away April 10, 2023. She was born in Vigo County on February 8, 1931 to Harry and Margaret (Larrison) Knight. She was preceded by her first husband George Crowley in 1981, a son James Crowley in 2015, a son Jack Crowley in 2010, and a son-in-law James Breneman in 2020. She is survived by her husband Thomas Brooks, daughters Georgia Jean Crowley, Brenda Breneman, and Marlene Cox and her husband Dave, and her step-daughter Stacey Thomas; her sons George E. "Butch" Crowley, II, Harry Crowley and Don Crowley, and her step-son Eric Brooks and his wife Kathy. Also surviving is a brother Garland Knight, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Marie, Virginia, Robert, Art, Katherine, Norma, Doris, Frieda, Betty, Carl, and Dale. Maxine was a member of the Terre Haute Seventh Day Assembly and for many years had previously been a member and attended the Pentecostal House of Prayer. Funeral service will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Mark Mundell officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
