Linda Marie Curtis, 64, of Terre Haute, Indiana went to be with her Lord in Heaven Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 2:59 p.m. Although sudden to us, Linda was surrounded by her children and husband as she answered the call she had been long preparing for. Anyone who had the privilege to know Linda surely benefited from her kindness. Her kindness came in many forms such as a jar of homemade pickles, an armful of vegetables from the garden, a carton of fresh eggs, money because she felt you might need it more than her, her helping hands, or the sound of her distinct laughter lingering in your thoughts. Above all, Linda was a caregiver. She worked hard her entire life cleaning homes, schools, and offices, pushing snow alongside her husband, caring for multiple children day and night, and working tirelessly to provide food for her neighbors, friends, family, the elderly, and those in need. Linda’s greatest joys were her family, her animals, and the home she made with her husband, John. Her strong personality, fragile heart, and creative spirit needed a special space in this earthly world and John provided that for her. To enter their home is to get to peek into her beautiful mind; every nook and cranny filled with family photos, dried flowers from her yard, mementos of days and times past, and her unique creations. Outside is a fairytale of winding paths through flowers and various animals that begged you to slow down and enjoy the beautiful details of nature. Linda loved by sharing the bounty her and John cultivated together and was the true North of her family; a constant presence that pulled us all back home. After devoting her life to caring for and giving to others, Linda has been pulled to her true North, her Lord and Savior that she so loved. She was never meant to stay, but rather to add her unique beauty and love to the world and then return peacefully to the heaven from whence she came.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, John A. Curtis, daughters Tanya Wyndham (Ostan) and Melissa Lazzara (Joshua), son Matthew Weaver (Jane Suter), grandchildren Kaleb Kelsheimer (Page), Emma Cesinger, Audrey Lazzara, Lauren Wilhoyte, Rocco Lazzara and Blake Natalie, one great-grandchild June Kelsheimer, brother John Renfro, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. Renfro and Bessie I. Rose, her brother Robert Renfro II, and two grandchildren, Ivy E. Clifton and Austin R. McFerren.
