Larry Allen Gormong

Larry Allen Gormong, 79, of Terre Haute went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.  He was born February 18, 1945 in Terre Haute to Charles O. Gormong and Ruby M. Clouse Gormong. Larry was a lifelong believer in Christ and an active church member.  At an early age he was a talented musician and played in the church band for many years.  He participated in the Sunshine Hour which was the longest running live radio program featured on Sunday’s on WBOW.  The first broadcast began May 31, 1931 until the last broadcast on September 30, 2001. They had 3670 continuous weekly broadcasts. .Larry was a proud farmer.  The 5th generation family farm works the land to this day.

Larry is survived by his sons Jeff Gormong (Beth), Joe Gormong (Randi), and Jason Gormong (Katie), grandchildren Jaena, Johanna, Jessica, Rachel, Rebekah, Jena, Jordyn, Jacob, and Jonah, brothers Dan Gormong (Nancy), Ron Gormong (Karen) and Dave Gormong, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Rita Gormong.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Pastor Ben Burdick and Pastor Dennis Moody will officiate.  Burial will be Monday, November 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at New Harmony Cemetery.  Pastor Jaena Gormong will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donation in remembrance of Larry may be made to Gideons International.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
