Julia Kay Douglas, 79, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023. She was born November 2, 1943, in Terre Haute to Thomas Curtis Lloyd and Winifred M. Spencer Lloyd. Julie was a 1961 graduate of Wiley High School. She married the love of her life, Kent Douglas, in 1962. The couple lived in Oklahoma for many years. Kent was an amateur radio operator for over 50 years and he and Julie opened Vintage Manuals. They reproduced short wave radio manuals and served many customers all over the world. Julie and Kent loved to travel, especially to England. She enjoyed crocheting and had an artistic spark often writing limericks, poetry and creating elaborate doodles. Julie was very close with her nieces and nephews. Most of all, the Christian faith was the key to her life.
She is survived by her brother Marty Lloyd (Charlotte), sister Dottie Stanley, sister-in-law JoEllen Karagis (Arnie), and eleven nieces, nephews, several great nieces and great nephews. Julie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Kent Douglas who passed away in 2016; sister Mary Lou Lloyd, and brother-in-law Marvin Stanley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Clayton officiating.
