Judith E. "Judy" (Lake) Thompson

Judith (Judy) Eileen Thompson (Lake), 82 of Terre Haute, died on August 11, 2021. She was born July 29,1939, in Terre Haute, IN to Lawrence and Lucille Lake. She was a member of the Riley American Legion Post 328 and could be seen there every Friday night playing cards.  She enjoyed playing cards and games with her friends and family. She was also a member of the Union Baptist Church. Judy is survived by her daughters Lori (Glenn) Black of Patterson, CA, Susan (Jeff) Akin of Terre Haute, IN, Lesa Lewellyn of Mooresville, IN, and son Bret (Robin) Thompson of Terre Haute, grandchildren Jenny Black Sotelo (Jaime), Bryan Black (Brittney) of Newman, CA, Darin McCullough ( Ashley) of Greensburg, Daniel McCullough of Plainfield, Alex Thompson Clements (Aaron) of Pendleton, Zachary Akin, Nikki Akin both of Terre Haute, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and her 2 cats Murphy and Miss Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon Thompson, grandson Ryan McCullough, brother Larry (Penny) Lake and sister Patt (Larry) Lawson. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Riley American Legion Post 328. Private family burial will be in Brown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Judy’s memory to Riley Children’s Hospital in honor of her grandson, Ryan.
