Judith Kay Stanisz, 76, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at Glencrest Nursing Home in Chicago on November 22, 2019. She was born on June 10, 1943, in Terre Haute, Indiana to George Rall and Marjorie Huffman Rall. Judith was a Special Education Teacher for 27½ years at West Vigo Elementary School and was a proud VCTA Union member. She was also a volunteer with the Special Olympics and would proudly take her students to participate in the games. Judith graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and attended Indiana State University where she obtained her bachelors and masters degree. Judith was a lifelong member of St. Joseph University Parish Catholic Church. In her spare time, Judith loved to bake and decorate cakes, she enjoyed movies and television, she loved to attend and participate as a vendor at Sci-Fi conventions. Judith was an avid fan of Star Trek and had met all the original cast members. Judith enjoyed going to mineral shows and rock collecting and was a proud M.A.P.S (Mid America Paleontology Society) member. Judith loved more than anything to spend time with her family. She is a lady with a generous heart, not only to her loved ones but towards others, too. She would contribute to several causes: St Jude, police officers group, Diabetes and cancer research. Judith is preceded in death by her parents and special grandparents, Mary Beatrice Gosnell and Ben John Nelson Dayhoff; her husband of 37 years Raymond Henry Stanisz. She is survived by her two sons, Raymond Stanisz Jr. and Christopher Stanisz; her daughter-in-law, Florabel Becerial Ravelas Stanisz, and her grandson, Gabriel Joseph Ravelas Stanisz. Visitation will be Friday, November 29, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. There will be visitation Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St Joseph University Parish Catholic Church with mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friar Savio Manavalan will be officiating.
