Judeth (Judy) Hosier Obituary

Judeth (Judy) Anne Hosier was born on February 28, 1940 in Clark County Illinois to Harold and Mable Beabout.  She graduated Casey High School in 1958 and enrolled in Union Hospital School of Nursing to pursue her dream of being a nurse. Because of her strong determination in school, she refused a proposal from Donny Hosier and graduated from Union Hospital School of nursing in 1961 as a Registered Nurse and finally married Donny Hosier (also known as Don Hosier) just before her graduation in August 27, 1960 and had sons Mike on May 17,1965 and Gary on November 18, 1966.

Upon graduation, she worked for Union Hospital until about 1981 when she was hired by Wabash Valley Urology working under Dr. Humphrey, Dr. Veach and Dr. Patel. She worked with them for 30 years, until her retirement in 2011, becoming known to many Terre Haute locals as Nurse Judy.

Judy was caring and always giving to others, not just love, but a helping hand as well. As a professional nurse and a loving person, Judy cared for many including elderly church members, her mother Mable, her father Harold, her brother Jerry, and her husband Don. She also supported her son through the death of his daughter, Ashlyn Hosier. Nurse Judy was sought by her friends and loved ones for her expertise in care and her advice.  She was loved and admired by all.

Judy Hosier passed December 25, 2021 surrounded by her family at Union Hospital of Terre Haute, her Alma Mater, the beginning and ending of a 60-year legacy of love.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Hosier; granddaughter Ashlyn; her parents Mable and Harold; and her brothers Jim and Jerry.

Judy is survived by two sons Michael Hosier and Gary Hosier; two daughters-in-law Venida and Karen;  a grandson Dayne Hosier, his wife Jami, and his son Daxton; and a granddaughter by marriage Heather Sosbe - all of whom she loved dearly giving freely anything they needed to succeed and be happy.
