Jerry Lee Williams, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on December 29, 2023, listening to his favorite music from Buddy Holly, Elvis, and the Statler Brothers, with an occasional song by Taylor Swift. He was born December 22, 1942 in Terre Haute to Kenneth Williams and Irene (Lee) Williams and married Brenda (Sirkle) Williams on December 12, 1970.
Jerry lived most of his life in Terre Haute, attending Wiley High School and studying business at Indiana State University. After graduation, he had a career in banking and owned & operated Sycamore Sun and Spirit. Jerry followed Purdue athletics with a passion and left this earth with Purdue hoops ranked No. 1 in the land.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, daughter Ali Loew (Mike), son Todd Williams (Kelly), grandchildren Hadley Loew, Crosby Loew, Hannah Williams, Austin Williams, brother Max Williams, twin sister Linda Tewell, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Milton Williams and Larry Williams.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home. After the visitation, a service will be held at the funeral home at 1pm followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Jerry’s family asks that donations be made to the Tyler Trent Cancer Research Endowment.
