James "Bobby" Daugherty Obituary

James "Bobby" Daugherty passed away on February 18, 2020 in Silver Birch Assisted Living in Terre Haute.  He was born on January 17, 1924 in Ohio County, Kentucky, the son of Claude Daugherty and Vonnie Simpson-Daugherty.  He married the love of his life, Eulalia Arbuckle-Daugherty on September 3, 1946 in Hartford, Kentucky.  He had 56 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death in 2002. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Jim Daugherty and Bill Daugherty; his parents; four brothers, and three sisters.  He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne and husband Larry Macke of Terre Haute and Elaine and husband John Huffenberger of Denison, Texas; daughter-in-law Cyndi Daugherty of Terre Haute, as well as 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Bobby served in the Army taking part in the Landing on Normandy Beach on D-Day.  Once he left the service he became a printer and worked for the Tribune Star.  He also later had a small grocery store in Kentucky and returned again to Terre Haute to begin Daugherty and Sons Construction.  Visitation for Bobby will be held on Thursday, February 20 from 4-7:00 PM at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21 starting at 11:00 AM with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be left at DeBaunfuneralhomes.com
