James Brock Albright, 86, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday July 24, 2021 in his residence. He retired in 1985 from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he started his career from 1959 to 1963 at Alcatraz Prison and was one of the last to leave and prompted him to write the book “Last Guard Out”. James was born April 8, 1935 in Washington, Iowa to Wilford M and Alice (Brock) Albright. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine (Wolters) Albright; daughters, Vicki Harlan and Donna Hinzmann (Bob); son, Kenneth Albright (Stacey); sisters, Shirley Ann Vorheis, Marilyn Peters, and Patsy Suter; grandchildren, Ashly Ash (Tony), James Harlan, and Austin Harlan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lou Curtis and Betty Jean Terrell and brother Robert Albright. James was also a veteran of the US Army. Visitation will Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 1:00 until 5:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
