Jackie Joe Miller, 88, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus. He was born October 29, 1931 in Terre Haute to Estel Miller and Mary Cary Miller. Jack enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He attended the New Providence Presbyterian Church in Paris, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion Post 328 in Riley. Jack worked as an instrument technician for PSI Energy for over 35 years. Most of all he loved holiday cookouts with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Doris Farris Miller, sons Terry Joe Miller, Brian Lee Miller, and Patrick Alan Miller (Margaret), grandchildren Linnea Baxtron (Justin) and Veronica Miller, brothers in law Rodman Nelson, David Farris (Karen) and family, James (Jim) and Susan Farris and family, sister in law Eva and Bruce Grimes, as well as many close friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 39 years, Dolores Violet Nelson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. There will be visitation again on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with services following visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Karol Farris Schilling will be officiating.
