Henry Irvin Ellinger, 84, passed away on September 24, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on July 31, 1940 in Terre Haute to Walter Ellinger and Blanche (Robins) Ellinger. Henry was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan, and he enjoyed the trips he took to watch the races with the Good Ol’ Boys Racing group. He also liked going on his camping trip on the river drinking his Bud Light. Henry was a funny but honest man. He and his late wife, Carol, loved to dance and were the life of the party.
He is survived by his children Henry Ellinger Jr. (Gloria), Pam Chilton (Raymond), and Angel Jones (Brandon); sisters Dorothy Hamilton and Sis Lawrence, grandchildren Carrie Morales-Rayes (Venancio), Brandy Elkins (Joey), Cody Cheesman, Micah Bell (Dillion), Paige Ellinger, Gennie Chilton, Mackensie Chilton, Ramy Chilton, and James Chilton; and great-grandchildren Jaxon Bell, Riley Bell, Weston Tarrh, Berklee Wagoner, and Waylon Wagoner.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Ellinger, both parents, son Greg Ellinger, and granddaughter Mariah Cheesman.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm with a funeral service starting at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
