Harry E. Edwards

Harry E. Edwards, 95, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  He was born November 12, 1927, in Terre Haute to Robert J. Edwards and Mary Melania Chesher Edwards.  Harry was a proud Navy Veteran serving in World War II on the USS Hummer YMS-1-class minesweeper. He served in Okinawa and Japan. Harry was the parts manager for Adams Pontiac.  Upon their closing he worked for Taylor Automotive, where he retired.  Harry was a member of the Sycamore Club, VFW #972, American Legion 104, Moose Lodge, and was a past president of the Breakfast Optimist Club.  He enjoyed playing golf, had season tickets to the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts, and loved watching an array of sports.  

Harry is survived by his sons, Jeff Edwards, and Greg Edwards (Vanessa), grandchildren Jonathon Edwards (Tirzah Abbott), Nicholas Edwards (Sarah), and Shelby Edwards, great-grandchildren Dylan and Milo, and significant other Betty Cesinger.  He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Ernestine Elliott Edwards, son Chris Edwards, and brothers Robert Edwards, Jr. and Bill Edwards. 

Graveside services with Military honors will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Heart Association.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
