H. Ingrid Stoelting

H. Ingrid Stoelting, 75, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at 1:20 PM Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Westminster Health Center. Ingrid was born May 27, 1946, in San Francisco, California, to Dr. J.L. and Florence Stoelting. Moving to Terre Haute as a young child, Ingrid later graduated from Garfield High School and then moved to Boston, Massachusetts. There Ingrid graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in nursing and soon after completed a double major M.S. in clinical nursing and nurse education from Boston College. Much of Ingrid’s forty-year nursing career was spent at the Boston VA Hospital. While there, Ingrid received numerous awards and commendations including a citation from then Secretary of the Navy John Kerry for setting an example of outstanding care for the VA patients. Ingrid had a servant’s heart, and it manifested in her care for others.

Ingrid was preceded in death by her parents and cousins Robert Joab (Terre Haute) and Paul E. Joab (Marshall, IL). She is survived by cousins Betty Mail (Marshall, IL) and Jerry Joab (Marshalll, IL).

The family wishes to recognize and thank the professional and genuinely caring personnel of Elara Hospice of Terre Haute, private caregivers Nancy Fullilove, Jane Ewing, and Sandy Kappus who have loyally and lovingly served the Stoelting family for many years, and lifelong friend of Ingrid’s, Susan Rozgony, for her steadfast care and support.

Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022, at 1:00 EST at Livingston Cemetery in Dennison, IL. with Rev. David Rockhill officiating.
