Geraldine E. Wiram

Geraldine E. Wiram, 96 of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:35 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Bethesda Gardens. She was born in Greenville, IL on August 12, 1919 to Ebey K. Ray and Clara Ray. Geraldine retired from Indiana Bell/ GTE as a telephone operator after many years of service and was a member of Southside Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Franzwa (husband Bob) of Peoria, IL, and her son, Gary R. Wiram (wife Ruth) of Vancouver, WA. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Robert E. Franzwa, Jr. (wife Jody) of Santa Rosa Margarita, CA), Lee Ann Travnicek (husband George) of Homers Glen, IL, Angela M. White (husband John) of Fairfax, VA, Lori Young of Trussville, AL, Leslie Eaton (husband Gary) of Atlanta, Ga, Matthew Wiram (wife Amy) of Trussville, AL, Sean C. O'Neill of Grand Prairie, TX, and Misty Smock (husband Ron) of Indianapolis, as well as several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, C. Richard Wiram (wife Paula of Blountsville, AL survives), her sister Thelma McIndoo and brother-in-law Bob McIndoo, and an infant brother. Geraldine loved her family and friends dearly, and her last words spoken when she was told that her daughter was on her way to see her was "Tell her I love her". Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM, with Bob Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to Southside Church of Christ, in her memory.
