Gerald Edward Edson, 77, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born May 18, 1943 in Terre Haute to Mary Bates Hunt and Roy Hunt. Gerald was an avid gun collector, enjoyed hunting and fishing, collected cars, and loved spending time with his family. He was Vice President of Honey Creek Machine and he loved the trade. His hands never tired. Even after retiring he still worked every day.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn Edson, daughter Molly Kerr, grandchildren Connor Kerr and Avery Kerr, sister Mary Lynn Hunt (Ted), brothers-in-law Bill Payne (Judy) and John Payne (Angie), sister-in-law LeeAnn Payne, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends Billi Bob Boor and Jim Stanley. He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Daniel Kerr, father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Dorthea Payne.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Swan will be officiating. Burial will be at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Gerald to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
