Fenton Dewayne Phelps was born on September 24, 1954, and passed away on August 26, 2023. To all his family, friends, and customers he was known as “Dee”, the most honest, reliable, and trustworthy man you will ever meet. Dee lived life to the fullest, from farming to fishing, to jeep adventures in Tennessee and long Harley rides on the coast somewhere. There was not a gas station from Indiana to Florida that did not appreciate him, he gave “gas ass” a whole new meaning. Friends were treated as family with Dee. He cherished his time with all of them. His customers were treated as friends. Being in the industrial sales field for countless years, he was known everywhere, and his dedication to his customers was something he was very proud of. The heart of what kept him going was his family, his wife of 50+ years, Penny Phelps, his kids, grandkids, and a great grandson. Traveling on family vacations, weekends around the firepit, and holidays spent in the barn were his biggest pleasures of life. There was not a minute in Dee’s life he did not live it to the fullest, traveling, working, family, farm, or just tinkering in the shop, he lived it like it was his last. To say Dee will be greatly missed by everyone is an understatement. His sense of humor, dedication, and simple love of life. To celebrate him, the family has scheduled a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 23, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the farm. Friends and family, customers that Dee cherished are all welcome to spend time celebrating the life of our husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. Arrangements were entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.
