Eva Ruth (Yates) Halstead

Eva Ruth Halstead, 98, passed away on May 21, 2025. She was born on July 3, 1926 in Terre Haute to James and Mamie Yates. Eva married Riley S. Halstead, and she worked beside him all her life.

She is survived by her children Harry Halstead (Rebecca) and Mildred Gard, stepdaughter Darlene Royer, brothers Earl Yates (Heidi) and Charles Lee Yates (Ruth Ann), five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, 10 siblings, and son-in-law Harold Gard.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
