Elizabeth "Betty" G. (Scheifler) Neuenschwander

Elizabeth G. “Betty” Neuenschwander, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday January 9, 2020 in Harrison Crossing Healthcare. She was born July 13, 1924 in St. Louis, MO to Emil John and Olga (Graul) Scheifler. She is survived by daughters, Mary Fouts (Mark) and Susan Pultorak (Edward); sons, John Neuenschwander (Elisse) and Jerry Neuenschwander (Janet); grandchildren, Matt, Maria, Mark Jr., Don, Christina, Joseph, Sister Mary John, Drew, Nate, Julia, and Lydia; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Liam, Emma, Alex, Phillip, Paraskevi, George, Theodora, Chase, Mark III, Jordan, Isabella, Aiden, Nathan, Drew, Pius, and Avila; sisters, Olga Faulstich and Evelyn Brown, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Neuenschwander, who died December 10, 2013 and brothers, Bill Scheifler and Emil Scheifler. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church since childhood until it recently closed, at which time she joined Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Weavers and Spinners Guild and belonged for various blacksmith groups with her husband. She also attended the John C. Campbell Folk Art School. Visitation will be Tuesday January 14, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Trinity Lutheran Church with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the church with Pastors Dana Newhouse and Donna Glazier officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to either Trinity Lutheran Church or the john C.
