Effie E. Nash, 97, of Terre Haute died February 21, 2020 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was born in Hymera on September 3, 1922 to Oscar and Pearl (Wyman) Keene. She was a retired operator for General Telephone (GTE). She was a member of the former Youngstown United Methodist Church, a former member of Riley American Legion Auxiliary
#327 and a former member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International. Her husband, John L. Nash, Sr. preceded her in death in 1985. She is the beloved mother of daughters Sherrie Sutton and husband Butch, Brenda (BJ) Voll and husband Rick; sons John L. Nash, Jr. and wife Doris, and Teddy L. Nash and wife Peggy. She is survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren Katie Nash, Ellen Marie Voll and Noah Voll, four brothers and one sister. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews survive her. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Rev. Linda Snider officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 pm and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery, Lewis, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley with envelopes available at the funeral home.
