Dorothy Deloris Johnson, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, December 29th, 2023, at the age of 76. “Dot” passed away from health complications.  

She was born in Terre Haute, IN. on April 28th, 1947, to Everett and Pauline Shattuck. She resided at Signature Health Nursing Facility, Terre Haute, IN.

Dot worked in Dietary at several local nursing homes. She also retired from Indiana State University. Dot had 25 years of service with ISU. She was very proud of her service record. She often told stories of her experiences serving Larry Bird when he attended ISU. She was a hard worker and strived to provide for her four children. She was a strong independent woman. With a lot of attitudes. Dot married two times in her lifetime. She was married to John W. Johnson and Gregory Johnson.  Dot enjoyed crocheting, working word search puzzles, and working jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed mushroom hunting and spending time with her family.

Dot was survived by her two sisters Mary and her husband Ray Hickenbotham, many nieces and nephews and great, and Judy and husband Steve Karanovich and niece and nephew and great; Brother Gerald and wife Florence Shattuck and nephew; her children, Pamela L. and husband Keith Ring of Terre Haute, Indiana, Dottie J. and husband Brian Barrett of Terre Haute, IN., and Shana A. Wilson and Spencer Basham, of Terre Haute, IN; her grandchildren Sarah Lynn Manche; and great-grandchildren, Makayla and Matthew Manche, James Jenkins, Chelsea Johnson and great, Ashley Johnson and great, Danielle and CJ Hunt, Braden Myrtle, Chassidy Barrett, and Amber and John Sparks, and Abigail and Noah Sparks, Zachary and Rusty Beeler and great; and her two stepdaughters Tina, and husband Robert Goodman, and Melissa Peters and grandchildren Shane Carnie and Jacob Goodman and one great step-grandchild. All of Terre Haute, IN.

Dot was preceded in death by her father and mother: Everett and Pauline Shattuck, her oldest brother Clarence Shattuck, middle brother Robert Shattuck, and youngest sister Sharon Sears, her only biological son John W. Johnson; and her two stepsons Max and Johnnie Peters.

There will be no funeral service upon request by Dot. However, family and friends will be provided with additional information for a private memorial service, later. Dot was grateful and blessed to have had so many good friends over the years. She was loved and will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.
