Debra A. Rogers, 67, of Terre Haute passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, June 6, 2021. She was born in Terre Haute November 30, 1953 to F. Dean and Inga Rogers. She graduated from Terre Haute South High School in 1973. Deb worked at Goodwill as a sorter and worked there for 35 years. After the death of her father in 2007 and her mother in 2008 she began her life in her own apartment with assistance from Happiness Bag where she was in their daytime program. Special Olympics was a huge part of her activities. Deb went to state finals in bowling and held medals in track, bocce ball, basketball, and had just become skilled in cornhole competition. She had looked forward to this year’s games. Her friends and staff at the Happiness Bag were close to her heart as well as family. She loved spending the holidays with her family. Deb loved all animals, large and small, real and stuffed. She loved to paint, make jewelry and loved wearing jewelry.
Deb is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Tim Rogers. She is survived by brothers Dave Rogers (Debbi) and Fred Rogers (Pat), nephews and nieces Todd (Diane), Kevin (Amy), Craig (Becky Griener), Kelley, Cassie, Scott, and Tracie, as well as many great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June, 12, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will follow visitation. Reverend Tim Fagg will be officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Deb can be made to Happiness Bag or the Special Olympics. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
