On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Connie Louise Case, beloved wife of Darrell Case, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a prolonged illness.
Connie was born on March 3,1951 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to John William (Bill) and Edith Simmons. Connie is survived by her husband of 42 years, her brother Dr. Tony Simmons of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and her sister Linda Simmons of Terre Haute, as well as her sister-in-law Betsy Case of Sullivan.
Connie was cofounder of Souls for Christ Prison and Jail Ministry. For 39 years she and her husband labored to bring the lost to The Lord. Her faith in Darrell as an author was justified last year when her favorite of his novels won best mystery for 2020. She never quit believing in her husband’s ability to write.
She loved crocheting and gave many baby afghans to Union Hospital and others. Her great joy every year was feeding the hummingbirds and tending the flowers in her numerous gardens. She loved people and never met a stranger.
Connie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church at Farmersburg where she served as treasurer for several years.
She is survived by two nephews Josh Simmons and Jon Simmons and five grand nieces and nephews (Carter, Brent, Sadie, Lillian, and Andrew Simmons).
Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on 41 in Farmersburg at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pastor John Sandiford and Darrell Case will be officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
