Clifford "Cliff" Harding, Jr. Obituary

Clifford Harding Jr. of Farmerburg passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.  He was born July 14, 1933 in Farmersburg, Indiana  to Clifford Harding and Eura Mae Gaskins Harding.

Cliff met the love of his life Retta “Faye” Griffith Harding at Kroger where they worked together in the meat shop. Cliff and Faye married on June 29th1958 and were able to celebrate 59 years of marriage. Ironic enough after meeting at a grocery store the couple went on to own and operate White Acres Food Center in Farmersburg IN for 40 years. Cliff and Faye had a strong work ethic that they passed on to their daughters.

Cliff was a lifelong Cubs fan. He enjoyed sharing jokes, finding new places to eat and playing cards. Cliff liked to be at home enjoying the peacefulness of the pond where he spent hours watching the water and wildlife.

Cliff was a U.S. Army veteran where he served as a tank driver.

Those close to him knew they could always count on him if they needed a helping hand.

Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Retta Faye, his parents, brothers Walter, Bob, George, Emil, and a sister Hazel Harding. He is survived by daughters Deanna Harding, Terri McNabb, Jerri (Mick) Fuson and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Nellie Liston and brother Ralph Harding.

The family would like to thank the caregivers, doctors, nurses, respiratory & physical therapist at Providence Medical Center, Regional Hospital & Amedisys Home HealthCare. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, St. Judes or the Shriners Children Hospital. Cliff’s final wishes were to be cremated and to have a private family ceremony at their home around the pond he loved so much. DeBaun Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
