Charlotte “Nadine” Horner, 83, passed away at her home in Carlisle on May 16, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 25, 1936 to Paul Gilbert and Helen Smith-Gilbert. Nadine is preceded in death by both parents; loving husband Clay C. Horner; daughter Charlotte Couch; siblings Gladys Burkhart, Norma Swain, Ruby Fish, and Clifford Gilbert. Nadine is survived by her son Michael Isham (Nancy J.); daughters Theresa Torrance (Todd) and Carol Weitermann; grandchildren Ashley Wardell (Jacob), Elizabeth Reel, Derrick Turner, and Nancy R. Isham; great-grandchildren Kaylin Turner, Ty Turner, and Carter Sutherland as well as several nieces and nephews. Nadine was a member of Prairieton United Methodist Church and Vigo County’s Extension Home Makers Prarieton Young Club, which she was an active member for over 45 years. Nadine loved “playing in the dirt” that was her way of telling you she’d be working in her flower garden. Nadine and her husband sold vegetables from their stand in Praireton. She would try a bit of everything through her life. Mostly she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and tending to her flowers. A visitation for Nadine will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, May 19 from 10-1:00 PM with services starting at 1:00 PM. Burial at New Harmony Cemetery will follow.
