In addition to her best work as a wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked alongside her husband as the Onsite Suspension Coordinator at Otter Creek Middle School. He was the Dean of Students and as one option for discipline, students were given in-school suspension to complete homework assignments. They also served together in ministry for thirty-years at Union Christian Church and fifteen years at the Cloverdale Christian Church. Her many interests included enjoying her family, music, cooking, supporting athletics at Terre Haute North High School and being a loving friend to so many people. She was instrumental in Bible Bowl, a national competition that engaged students in Bible study at area tournaments as well as the national tournament at the annual North American Christian Convention. She was a longtime volunteer for the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County. After ministry in churches and retirement from the Vigo County School Corporation, she and her husband attended the Alaska Christian Church and she continued to play the piano for worship services after his death.
