Betty June Farmer, 88, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was born April 1, 1931 in Terre Haute to William Farmer and Edith Blocksom Farmer. Betty spent over 30 years as an educator retiring from Pike Township Schools at the age of 80. During those years she was also a teacher for the children of soldiers in the U.S. Army stationed in Norway, Germany, and Spain. Betty loved to travel, enjoyed writing and was an avid reader.
She is survived by niece Edith Farmer Christman, nephews William Craig Farmer, Bertram Stuart Farmer, and Dwight Allan Farmer and their spouses, as well as several great nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Peter Alan Farmer (Frances) and Boyd James Farmer (Jane).
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Pastor Dan Gormong will be officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
