February 18, 2021, surrounded by family, Alma Jo Sluder was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus.
Born to Clay and Ethel Bumgardner in Akron, Ohio, on August 13, 1929, Alma was then raised in the country near Universal, Indiana.
At the age of 18, she wedded her high school sweetheart, Basil, and for 62 years made a loving home for her family while living in several states, as her husband’s career advanced. She served the Lord in her church and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and cross stitching.
Mrs. Sluder is survived by her daughters: Rene’ Adamson, Dawn (Randy) Adamson, and Holly (David) Ross; grandsons: Ryan (Amanda) Adamson, Brandon (Ashley) Adamson, Ben (Kristin) Adamson, Daniel (Leah) Adamson, Caleb (Brittany) Ross, and Jacob Ross; eight great grandchildren; sister: Mary Hensley; brothers: Michael Bumgardner and Tim (Kathy) Bumgardner; sister-in-law: Edie Bumgardner; and many nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Basil; parents; brothers: John Bumgardner and Ed (Louise) Bumgardner; and her sweet granddaughter Erin Adamson.
Visitation will be Monday, February 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Adamson presiding.
